Don’t Sleep! ANNO DOMINI
by admin on Jul.24, 2009, under Digital Digs, Producer Spotlight, The Daily Grinder
Yet another producer NOT TO BE SLEPT ON! Check out the link to his Soundclick page by clicking the image below.
Most of the production has a very 90’s feel to it, which we here at the Grinder don’t mind at all. Me personally found myself visioning the late great Tupac Shakur would be a nice fit on numerous tracks produced by Anno Domini.
We have a free download below for all those who want to catch a quick sample before going and checking out the page. So listen to it, download it, kick a freestyle, send it off to us. Let us know whats good.

Keepin it “R” Rated
by admin on Jul.22, 2009, under Digital Digs, Links, Producer Spotlight, The Daily Grinder
Just happened to stumble across a producer by the name of “Nons3nse” of R Rated Entertainment. Must admit he has a very professional commercial sound to his work. Definitely worth checking out.
Featured Mixtape: I’m Just A Bachelor
by admin on Jul.15, 2009, under Digital Digs, Mixtapes
As promised, Chris Louis has come through with the exclusive mixtape for us here at Digital Grinder. “I’m Just A Bachelor” is a very impressive effort, from an artist who never ceases to amaze us. Luckily we got some one on one time with him in the days previous to the mixtape release for a little more insight.
DG: So we know you are still working hard on the mixtape, but give us some info on what we should be expecting.
CL: Yea, it has definitely been an everyday thing for me. Really this mixtape will be different from the rest in a sense that it is actually more of a story from beginning to end. Where my other mixtapes are just a cd full of remixes for the most part. Where this one actually somewhat takes form as a story.
DG: Basically the life of a bachelor? or through your eyes atleast.
CL: Well…It’s more or less my story and experiences. Some exaggerated for a humor factor, but for the most part it is all taken from my experiences. I’d say its very comparable to what Lyfe Jennings did on his first album letting his whole story unfold while he narrated it.
DG: Definitely an interesting concept. I’m not even sure what to expect now! Any favorite songs you have recorded yet? Or anything you want the listeners to pay attention to?
CL: haha you always do this to me.. Not really, i like all of them equally. It’s like trying to pick a favorite child almost…But.. my second verse on “Why R U” felt good when it came out, it was real, and i felt like i was on my “nasty nas” haha. And trust me thats not often i’d say something like that. Other than that, something always strikes me about “Addicted 2 U” and “Best I Never Had” of course.
DG: What is it about those songs that stikes you?
CL: Really i think its that they are the most personal probably. Where others may be a little stretch from my actuall life.. Those are dead on from experience. What you hear is what it really is..
DG: Makes sense and I can definitelty see where you are coming from on that. Any last words again, thank you’s, top secret plans we should be in the know about?
CL: haha nah no secret plans, but i do want to thank a few people who have definitely been a huge help the past few years. First TK (T.Knibbs) who has been there every step of the way and actually the only other artist featured on my mixtape besides the original artists.. Also Anne Nielsen who has been a huge part in my success overseas and recognition in general with major labels. And last but definitely not least, my PR Nicole Ramirez who always has me on top of everything. The woman always has great advice, regardless of what it is. Wouldn’t trade these people for the world.
DG: Well, definitely sounds like a great team. Continued success to you and with no further ado..
Featured Artist: Chris Louis

This month we decided to feature someone who we have known for quite some time now. Since the beginning of this whole thing, we go way back to 2005 with Chris Louis. With a planned mixtape for the 15th of this month, “I’m Just A Bachelor”, we will also be the first to post the mixtape and interview for everyone to enjoy.
Personally, i must say it has been a pleasure working with “CL”, his producers & artists around him. All of which are true talents in their own right. (Be ready to see more from them as well!) For now though we bring to you July’s featured artist and interview. Everybody’s “Newest Favorite” Chris Louis.

Don’t Sleep! (Boonie Mayfield)
by admin on Jul.02, 2009, under Producer Spotlight, The Daily Grinder, Videos
Finally starting up some new things around here. A little something we will be doing is this “Don’t Sleep” section where we will promote random producers and artists that should NOT be slept on. Kicking off things we got our man Boonie Mayfield.
If you are looking for that real hip-hop sound. I’m talking about straight off the streets of NYC late 80’s early 90’s this guy has some productions that will blow your mind.
Unfortunately we don’t have a sample of his work for the artists out there to jump on, but we do have a few connects including his SOUNDCLICK PAGE and number
(720) 244-8221
if interested in purchasing beats. Trust me a bried run through of his soundclick page and it will make you a true believer. So show love and definitely DON’T SLEEP on Boonie Mayfield!
Still In Shock

…… Not much more to say here that hasn’t already been said. A living legend passed yesterday and will never be forgotten. Being compared to the passing of Elvis Presley. This one not only took a big hit on his friends and family but most of the world and entire music industry.
Such an iconic figure in the industry, respected by every genre of music. Not too many people can say that they weren’t influenced by this man. Whether it be musically, or just trying to slide around your moms house trying to moonwalk when you were a kid. We all have memories and can look back on this legends career as one that may never be duplicated.
R.I.P MIKE YOU WILL BE MISSED!
